GAC-MAC-IAH 2020 Abstract Submission Deadline Jan. 28

This year, the annual conference of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (Canadian National Chapter) will be held jointly with the Geological Association of Canada and the Mineralogical Association of Canada (GAC-MAC). It will take place in Quebec City, from May 12-15, 2019. We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to the session “Unifying international research forces to unlock geothermal resource” integrated in the theme Resources, Energy and Environment.

Newly Discovered Cave in Wells Gray Park, BC

Hydroshearing and Hydrofracturing - What's the Difference?

Understanding hydroshearing and hydrofracturing is fundamental for EGS development and, arguably, for conventional production as well.  The key to maximizing well production understanding the stress field for new wells to enable and enhance flow.

Maurice Dessault, a teacher and researcher in the University of Waterloo, has composed a short summary explaining hydroshearing and hydrofracturing which can be read here.

GAC-MAC: Call for Abstracts for Geothermal Session

One of the special sessions of the conference is Unifying International Research Forces to Unlock Geothermal Resources (SS-RE12), led by Jasmin Raymond (INRS) and Daniela Blessent (Universidad de Medellin). We would like to invite all interested parties to submit an abstract for this session.

27th IUGG General Assembly, July 8-18, 2019

The International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) General Assembly held in Montreal, QC from July 8-18, 2018 features public lectures, keynote Union lectures and a wide variety of themed sessions.

The International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI) is hosting a sessions with a topic of heat flow and geothermal energy.
