GAC-MAC: Call for Abstracts for Geothermal Session

One of the special sessions of the conference is Unifying International Research Forces to Unlock Geothermal Resources (SS-RE12), led by Jasmin Raymond (INRS) and Daniela Blessent (Universidad de Medellin). We would like to invite all interested parties to submit an abstract for this session.

27th IUGG General Assembly, July 8-18, 2019

The International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) General Assembly held in Montreal, QC from July 8-18, 2018 features public lectures, keynote Union lectures and a wide variety of themed sessions.

The International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI) is hosting a sessions with a topic of heat flow and geothermal energy.

October 21, 2018: Geothermal Canada (GC) was pleased to present “Moving Geothermal in Canada Forward” at the International Session of the Geothermal Resources Council’s (GRC) annual conference held in Reno, Nevada. Several presentations are available for viewing on GC’s website.

June 19, 2018 marked a special day in Vancouver for Geothermal Canada members and those interested in geothermal energy in Canada. The Association, founded in 1974, chose to honour two founding and one long-time member of the Canadian geothermal community by granting them honourary lifetime memberships in the rebranded association, Geothermal Canada, that they helped found more than 40 years ago.

Yellowknife Geosciences Forum - Nov 20-22, 2018

The 46th Annual Yellowknife Geoscience Forum will be held in Yellowknife, NWT from Tues Nov. 20 - Thurs Nov. 22, 2018. Of the several sessions covering a range of topics, including the Energy in Canada's North sessions, which is co-chaired by Kathryn Fiess, Manager, Petroleum Geosciences, Northwest Territories Geological Survey and David Mahon, Manager Energy Projects –Infrastructure. 

Successful Trip to Meager Hot Springs

Last week, two of our board members Jasmin Raymond and Jeff Witter trekked to Meager Creek Hot Springs. The area served as the first geothermal exploration project in Canada several decades ago and hot water still flows at the surface.
