Yannick Champollion
Yannick Champollion is a Geotechnical Engineer from the Polytech university in Grenoble, France, with a specialty in hydrogeology and subsurface evaluations. He first worked in Saskatoon for a few years as a project engineer/hydrogeologist at uranium mines in northern Saskatchewan. He then moved to Calgary where he first gained some experience in the environmental industry before finding his stride as an Oil Sands hydrogeologist. That eventually led him to the management of Oil Sands production and development subsurface teams allowing him to broaden his experience in geoscience, geophysics, production and reservoir engineering. He has now embraced the challenges of working in the emerging geothermal and carbon sequestration industries.
In his free time, Yannick can be found on a soccer pitch coaching one of his three sons or in the wild and beautiful Rocky Mountains of Canada – winter and summer. This leaves him with little time to enjoy the comfort of his carbon neutral home thanks to a ground source heat pump and solar PV installations.
