Mark TeKamp is a land use planner with experience supporting energy development through land administration, project coordination and stakeholder engagement. His work has focused on navigating complex regulatory processes and fostering collaboration among industry, researchers, government and local communities to advance responsible resource development. Mark works with the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, Energy Resource Development Branch. He is a strong advocate for emerging energy opportunities in Atlantic Canada and for advancing the role of geothermal resources in Canada's energy transition.

As Geothermal Canada's Director for Atlantic Canada, Mark is committed to strengthening connections between Atlantic Canadian projects and the broader national and international geothermal community. He is enthusiastic about practical solutions that support economic growth and the responsible development of Nova Scotia's energy potential.

Since 2020, Nova Scotia's Energy Resource Development Branch has collaborated with researchers, consultants, industry and local communities to advance the understanding of the province’s geothermal potential. This work has contributed to several key studies, including Assessment of Geothermal Resources in Onshore Nova Scotia, Direct Use of Geothermal Heat in Nova Scotia, and the Springhill Geothermal Greenhouse Action Plan helping build the foundation for future geothermal development in Atlantic Canada.
