GreenFire Energy Inc. announced that it has entered in an agreement with Dios Energy, a renewable energy advisory firm, whereby Dios Energy will act as a local partner for Japan. Dios Energy will develop and support geothermal projects in Japan exclusively on behalf of GreenFire Energy.

The Alberta Energy Regulator is expanding its mandate to include geothermal resources. They are seeking public feedback on a draft directive aimed at regulating the alternative energy. Feedback will be accepted through September 3, 2021.

The sale of BC’s most promising geothermal site to a Calgary-based group was finalized in March 2021. Green hydrogen will be sold and used in place of gas to fuel the heavy transportation industry by 2025.

In association with the First European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) Workshop on Geothermal in Latin America, Maurice Dusseault of Geothermal Canada and the University of Waterloo will join Professor Grant Wach of Dalhousie University to present a 4-hour workshop on the Geology and Geomechanics of Geothermal Energy.
