Geological Association of Canada (GAC®), in concert with the Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC) will host the annual geoscience conference in Quebec City. 

There will be a Special Session: Unifying International Research Forces to Unlock Geothermal Resources (SS-RE12), which is accepting abstract submissions.

Event registration is now open, and Call for Abstracts is open until Jan. 28, 2019.

The International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) General Assembly next year features public lectures, keynote Union lectures and a wide variety of themed sessions. The International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI) is hosting a sessions with a topic of heat flow and geothermal energy.

This year, there will be 2 modules: Geostatistics and Geophysics, with the latter being co-instructed by Dr. Jeff Witter.

Module 1: Geothermal Geostatistics
Dates: 10-14th June 2019
How to perform exploratory statistical analysis on a variety of datasets relevant to geothermal exploration and production, as well as how to create 2D and 3D statistical models from these data.

Module 2: Geothermal Geophysics
Dates: 17th-21st June 2019
Fundamentals of geophysical techniques commonly used in geothermal exploration and resource development.
