The International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) General Assembly next year features public lectures, keynote Union lectures and a wide variety of themed sessions. The International Association of Seismology and Physics of the Earth’s Interior (IASPEI) is hosting a sessions with a topic of heat flow and geothermal energy.

Module 1: Geothermal Geostatistics
Dates: 10-14th June 2019
How to perform exploratory statistical analysis on a variety of datasets relevant to geothermal exploration and production, as well as how to create 2D and 3D statistical models from these data.
Module 2: Geothermal Geophysics
Dates: 17th-21st June 2019
Fundamentals of geophysical techniques commonly used in geothermal exploration and resource development.
GRC Annual Meeting 2019

GEothermal resources in sedimentary basins conference

This conference is a “multidisciplinary meeting dedicated to sharing knowledge and insight into the development of geothermal resources in sedimentary basins worldwide.” It includes a field excursion in the Rocky Mountains, the conference, and short courses. The keynote speaker is University of Reno Nevada professor Dr. Jim Faulds.

Canadian Geothermal Students Day

The Canadian Geothermal Students Day is organized by students, for students. This meeting is the first of its kind to be organized in Canada. It aims to bring together graduate students to post-doc fellows from Canada’s East to West coasts to discuss and share their research projects related with the field of geothermal energy.
